Is Botox For Me?

Some of the imperfections most commonly treated with Botox include:

  • Wrinkles
  • Crow’s feet
  • Frown lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Eyebrow wrinkles
  • Forehead furrows

In addition to these cosmetic issues, Botox has also proven effective in treating some medical issues such as migraines, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweat) and some forms of bladder dysfunction. If you’re struggling with wrinkles, eyebrow-lines or even migraines, Botox may be the solution you need.

How Does Botox Work?

BOTOX® Treatment

The non-surgical Botox procedure is typically performed in a doctor’s office, to ensure maximum comfort. A Botox session takes only 10 – 15 minutes per injection, with no downtime needed afterward. You can resume your favorite activities and even return to work right away.

The result of the treatment is firmer, more youthful skin, along with reduced wrinkles and lines. The effects of Botox Cosmetic treatment last around four months, and most typically see results within 30 days of receiving treatment.

What is Juvederm Voluma XC?

Juvederm Voluma XCJuvederm Voluma XC is a new injectable treatment from the creators of BOTOX and Juvederm. Like those treatments, it is administered sub-dermally through a small injection. Unlike those two treatments, however, Juvederm Voluma XC used to combat volume loss in the cheeks of the face.
As aging and gravity take their toll, the face begins to lose volume. This is due to the loss of naturally occurring substances such as hyaluronic acid (HA).

Most other dermal fillers and smoothing gels are not approved to treat the loss of facial volume. They are, instead designed to treat issues such as fine lines and nasolabial folds (smile lines).

Juvederm Voluma XC is FDA-approved to treat age-related volume loss in the cheek area of adults 21-and-over.

How Does Juvederm Voluma XC Work?

Juvederm Voluma XC is injected in to the cheek area, also referred to as the mid-face. Juvederm Voluma XC contains two solutions designed to boost facial volume:

  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
  • A mild painkiller

In essence, Juvederm Voluma XC is a volumiser. After the treatment, which takes just a few minutes, many patients see fuller and rounder facial features, which provide an altogether more youthful look. Unlike other fillers, Voluma was designed specifically for this purpose.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

Most dermal fillers in use today provide an FDA-approved solution to smoothing out unwanted age lines and adding volume to your features. The procedures incur zero downtime, and their effects can be seen almost immediately.

The process is simple. A professional injects a substance into the areas surrounding the nose, mouth, and chin to smooth wrinkles by adding volume beneath the surface of the skin.

JUVÉDERM®

Juvederm Treatments

With Juvéderm® therapy, a colorless gel called hyaluronic acid is injected into the treatment area.

Hyaluronic acid is naturally created by the body, and acts as a sponge to absorb water and store it under the skin, lending your face a fuller, youthful appearance.

Within the Juvéderm® family of products there are also several options to consider depending on the condition you wish to address. For example, Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a thicker gel used to fill deeper furrows in the skin, while Juvéderm® Ultra is a thinner solution for smoothing away fine lines. Both options last for up to one year with just a single treatment.

RADIESSE®

RADIESSE Treatments

Radiesse® uses microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a water-based gel to instantly restore volume to wrinkled skin. This substance is naturally absorbed over time, leaving the body's own collagen in its place. The results can last for over a year.

SCULPTRA®

SCULPTRA Treatments

Unlike some other options, Sculptra® can take a short period of time before its benefits come to full realization. Patients take part in three injections over a range of a few months, allowing the patient to gradually erase their age lines without having to explain how they vanished overnight. These injections are filled with a synthetic substance known as poly-L-lactic acid which stimulates the body's production of collagen. It's the same material used in the manufacturing of dissolvable stitches and is safely absorbed by the body over time. The results of Sculptra® last more than two years.

Restylane®

Restylane Treatments

Much like Juvederm, Restylane uses hyaluronic acid to reduce wrinkles and folds by adding volume to the skin. It is also effective in enhancing the fullness of your lips and has been FDA approved for the purposes of lip enhancement for patients over the age of 21.

The injections will be absorbed naturally by the body over time, but with follow up treatments at 4.5 or 9 months, Restylane results can last up to 18 months.

Perlane®

Perlane Treatments

Perlane is another treatment option found within the Restylane family of products. It is also a hyaluronic gel designed to add volume to skin. Perlane is effective in reducing wrinkles, folds, and smile lines, as well as enhancing the fullness of your lips.

The main difference between Perlane and Restylane is that Perlane is a thicker gel, and it is injected deeper into the skin. It can be a better option or clients with thicker skin, or for wrinkles that originate deeper within the face. Perlane results last between six to nine months.

LaViv®

LaViv Treatments

LaViv takes an entirely different approach to skin rejuvenation than some of the techniques described above. It is designed to use your body's own tissues to stimulate the production of collagen. Here is a brief description of how the process works:

Collagen resides in the middle layer of your skin, and it is the substance that is most responsible for giving your skin its shape. Fibroblasts are the skin cells that produce collagen.

During the LaViv process, a skin sample is taken from your body, and sent to a lab where it is cultivated into millions of fibroblast cells. These cells are frozen for three months. The new fibroblasts are then injected back into your skin where they begin producing new collagen.

Acoustic Wave Machine

Acoustic Wave Machine

80% to 90% of all women are affected by connective tissue disorders. Fibrous strands of tissue that connect your skin to deeper tissue layers create compartments of ordinary fat cells. When the fat cells increase in size, the compartments bulge and produce the dimpling (orange peel) appearance on your skin's surface.

Factors such as genetics, hormones, pregnancy, and aging all attribute to the weakening of the collagen fibers, decreasing skin elasticity, thickness and tone of connective tissue and give the typical orange peel appearance on thighs, buttocks and upper arms.

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT®) is a modern, highly effective treatment method characterized by the application of acoustic pressure waves to the affected body regions. This innovative, non-invasive treatment method is chosen by an increasing number of women as a preventive treatment to reduce their susceptibility and/or to reverse and eliminate visible signs of connective tissue disorders.

FAQ

What is EPAT®?

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT®) is the most advanced and highly effective non-invasive treatment method cleared by the FDA. This proprietary technology is based on a unique set of pressure waves that stimulate the metabolism, enhance blood circulation and accelerate the healing process.

EPAT® performed with the radial applicator uses high- energy acoustic waves that are introduced into the patient's body in the form of high-frequency oscillations. EPAT® is the first effective and long lasting treatment modality for treating connective tissue disorders.

What are the expected results?

EPAT® has been successfully used in aesthetic medicine in the course of several clinical application studies. EPAT ® treatment has a multilayer effect.

  • Skin-skin tightening, better skin structure and contour
  • Fatty tissue- increased blood flow, activation of metabolism, stimulation of lipolysis and body shaping
  • Connective tissue - stimulation and activation of collagen formation
  • Lymphatic system - improved circulation and drainage
  • Muscle - normalization of muscle tone

In a pilot study (Sattler, Aesthetic Dermatology February 2008), 91% of patients would recommend EPAT® to other patients. The women noticed an improvement in their skin in an average of only 2.5 sessions with no side effects reported.

Is it safe?

Yes. This FDA cleared technology was developed in Europe and is currently used around the globe. A wealth of medical experience, state-of-the-art engineering and optimal quality have been built into each EPAT® device, and extensive clinical studies and tests have confirmed its safety and efficacy.

When performed by a qualified caregiver, Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT®) has virtually no risks or side effects.

What is the duration of the treatment and how many treatments will I need?

Treatment sessions take approximately 20 minutes depending on the number of areas to be treated. Generally, 8-12 treatment sessions (2 per week) are necessary.

How is the treatment performed?

Coupling gel is applied to the treatment area to enhance effectiveness. After these preparations, acoustic pressure waves are released via the applicator moved over the entire treatment region.

EPAT® is performed in your physician's office/ clinic, does not require anesthesia, requires a minimal amount of time, and allows you to return to work/normal activities.

What are the benefits of EPAT®?

  • Non-invasive
  • No anesthesia
  • No risk of infection
  • No scarring
  • No downtime
  • Over 80% patient satisfaction
  • Faster, easier healing
